Legs. They're a good thing.
Did legs tonight. Not too much muscle has been lost-which is nice. I'm working out in our decently equipped but lacking a treadmill home gym. We have a television and a stereo in the basement also, but I have to be careful when I'm watching the Canadian beauty-makover shows. Before I know it, I'm sitting on the Reebok step with my chin in my hands smiling in that special Forrest Gump way at the the woman who's been tranformed into a swan by a team of colorists and makeup artists. I love when women are in the stylists chair and emphatically exclaim that they want to keep their long hair. Have they ever even seen a makeover show? EVERYONE gets short hair. That initial, "Ummm, you stupid dick. I explicitly said 'keep the length' " look is priceless. I wonder how long they keep their new looks. I wonder how many of them really hate the way they turned out, but were too polite to tell the host to bite their ass. Hmmm....

Holy Mary, mother of...
Note of supplements that I'm taking:
One-A-Day Weight Smart - I think it's kind of gimmicky, but I know a few people who've commented on how it helped with their programs. J and I both thought we could give it a shot.
Magnesium/Calcium/Zinc - It's a mixed vitamin that's supposed to help with sleep. I've been taking it for a little while (inconsistently) and haven't really noticed anything spectacular.
B-Complex - This is my stinky vitamin. Turns my pee bright yellow/green and creates a really strong smell. Seems to go through my system fairly quickly. It's a reputable name, but I'm not sure of the real quality. Never did a water test on it.
CLA - Another gimmicky one, but I got it on a great deal at Target. Apparently they're normally about $15 a bottle, I found them for $3.24! I rock! I've been hearing a lot lately that they're good for weight-loss/lean muscle maintenance.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
Wow. Sometimes I'm actually shocked by how pretty the day can be. I woke up this morning needing to be outside. For the first time in my life I planted seeds in the garden. I've bought pre-germinated plants before, but never seeds. So I thought I would get all adventurous and plant flowers and vegetables. Up until yesterday, I didn't believe that anything would ever come up. I wanted to scratch at the surface to see if they needed help or something. I'm proud to announce that a few babies were born yesterday! We now have squash, watermelon, lemon basil and something I don't remember planting. I'm tickled. I have this urge to just sit outside and watch them to see how fast they grow. Impatient? Nah. We'll call it anxious (which, by the way was the name of a dog I used to have.)
Right now I need to pour myself some coffee and go stare at plants.
